Truque
Truque (unfinished, but playable)
Truque is a modern spin on Truco, a traditional brazilian/spanish card game. It adds special cards like the Balatro jokers on top of the game that makes and breaks friendships and families all across the latin regions.
How to play (read this one)
Truco is a betting game, where you and a partner face two other people, counting cards, betting points and trying to make it to 12 points, before the other pair makes it. In order to do this, you will play Hands, a set of three rounds where in each round, every player will play one card of the three they have. Whoever has the highest card, wins the round. Whoever wins two rounds, wins the Hand.
Truco has a special card order, shown in the "How to Play" menu and in the "i" icon during play, from left to right then top to bottom. All special cards (except for Backstab) are just below the top row of cards.
You can also bet your points: you can raise the stakes of that hand by 3 pts. Of course, the other pair may refuse your bet, giving you one point and going to the next hand. But if they accept, they may still raise the stakes even higher!
Finally, you can exchange your dealt cards if you recieve only face cards. However, the cards you discard go face down into the table, so you may want to exchange even if not all of them are face cards.
Special Cards
- XRay: Allows you to see your partner's hand for this round
- Backstab: Lowest card in the game, but wins against the 4 of Clubs
- Pocket: Enables a pocket to keep cards in for the rest of the game
- Gimme: Increases the amount of cards dealt to you to 4 for the next round
